This specification outlines general guides for the materials selection, preparation, application, and installation for the tiling systems directly to STRUCTAflor Yellow Tongue floor substrate.

Only full body porcelain tiles to be used for direct tiling to Yellow Tongue.
Soft biscuit tile types such as glazed monocottura tile or natural stone including travertine or marble are not suitable for direct tiling option. These tile types should only be fixed to Ceramic Tile Underlay fixed on top of Yellow Tongue.
Must be installed according to manufacturer's instructions. That includes correct type and size of nails and screws, correct size of joist, and correct spacing (max450mm centres) recommendation.
To tile directly over STRUCTAflor Yellow Tongue, the manufacturers protective coating layer must be intact and in ʻlike new conditionʼ.
The substrate must be solid and sound with no more than 1/360 deflection.
The substrate must be clean, dry, free from dust, wax, oil, grease, laitance, curing compounds, paints (incl. overspray), coatings and all contaminants which may cause adhesion failure. Only prime clean Yellow Tongue sheets with PR-1 BLUE ImperviousSubstrate Primer.
Apply one (1) coat only at a rate no greater than 15m2 per litre. Drying time is min 24 hours. Prior to tiling check PR-1 primer has adhered fully to Yellow Tongue surface.
Application of ADH-77 Tile Adhesive must only be done with ADH-77 15mm Modified Trowel. A minimum 6mm continuous adhesive bed beneath the tile (after tiles are installed) must be achieved for direct to Yellow Tongue application.
Hold the ADH-77 trowel at min 450 to the substrate to maximise bed thickness.
Use only ACTʼs patented EZE-Clip Tile Laying System for this application. After tiles are set (min 8hrs - ideally 24hrs) remove EZE-Clip by knocking them off along the grout joint line with a rubber mallet.
Only use Spectrum Futura Lightweight Coloured Grout.Follow the written instructions on packaging. Ensure grout joints are clean of ADH-77 residue prior to application of grout.

MOVEMENT & PERIMETER JOINTS
Select a colour of Spectrum Futura S-25 silicone to match the grout for all movement and perimeter joints. They must be incorporated in accordance with AS3958.1-2007.
